Hotel Stay with Toddlers: Marina Bay Sands

As part of our holiday in Singapore, we stayed 2 nights at Marina Bay Sands (click here to find out more) and all thanks to my daddy who works there. He secured fantastic work rates for two rooms - one for them and one for us.
Marina Bay Sands consists of three towers within the same precinct. The lobby areas is one rather long in length and not wide in breathe. Each tower has its own lobby area and there are no seats for the hotel guests / visitors to sit, therefore...wear comfy shoes because you may be standing around for quite awhile.

The room that we were given was on the 14th floor and faces Gardens by the Bay (click here to find out more) which is absolutely stunning.

The room is very generously sized and comes with a huge balcony which is very handy for drying our swimming gear, for the twins to run around and also the ideal place to feed the twins!

We asked for 2 cots and they are very generously sized too. In fact, I can't even touch the mattress from the top! Yes, the kids slept very well in those cots.

For those of you who bring milk and food / fruit for your kids like us, request for a second fridge because the in-room fridge has an automatic detection when items are removed (this is chargable upon check out even if you don't consume it). The hotel provided us with a small portable fridge - it is small but adequate for our short stay.

The towels provided by the pool is always warm. I cannot begin to describe how comforting it is because it can get cold and windy on the 57th level after a swim (yes, you read it right, cold).

Not so positives
The marble floor in their bathroom is highly polished and very slippery. In fact, the husband slipped twice in the shower and poor Charlotte slipped twice too! It was slightly distressing to state the least. The hotel provides 1 rubber bath mat with the room and we requested for 5 more so that we could cover the "entry" into the shower and most of the shower area.

The infinity pool on the 57th level is one of the drawcards to this hotel. It is a good concept and boasts stunning views of Singapore CBD. However, the lack of shelter up there is an issue when rain / thunder storms descends. I have seen many designer bags rolled up in towels and placed underneath the sun loungers for protection while its owners scurry elsewhere to seek shelter. By the way, the pool is always crowded and the water remains cold all day. Yes, you read it right. Cold.

If you are after a relaxing get away for a couple or a family, this is certainly not the hotel to pick. If you are after something different, this is the hotel for you, especially if you love the casino which is attached to this establishment.

  1. Thats sad that your husband slips there twice . MBS although a good hotel to stay and have fun . Singapore Malaysia tour package

    1. Hi Praveen

We did have a good time and it is a lovely hotel. It was unfortunate that the marble floors in the bathroom was incredibly slippery - both my husband and daughter slipped multiple times.
