For me, dinning out with children requires research because it needs to fulfil the following requirements:
(1) Ample parking
(2) Clean public toilets
(3) Food choices on the menu
(4) Dinner service must commence by 5pm
(5) Must be clean and comfortable
(6) High chairs are preferred
We have been eating out a little since the grandparents are in town. No surprises, they prefer Asian cuisine.
Thank goodness, we have a few good choices very close to home and one of them is Satay Ria, an air-conditioned, clean and comfortable restaurant that fulfils all my criteria above.
Satay Ria is a Malaysian Chinese Restaurant located in Cannon Hill. The boss is Raymond Lee. He's a very friendly fella who speaks good English! *phew* He has opened a 2nd restaurant and it is located in the Fortitude Valley.
When we were their, we ordered the following dishes to share:
(1) Hor Fun with seafood - SUPER YUMMY!
(2) Fried Rice - SUPER YUMMY! Daniel ate 70%
(3) Kang Kong with Sambal Belachan - SHIOK!
(4) Sweet & Sour Pork Spare Ribs - WHOA!
(5) Salt & Pepper spare Ribs - SUPER!
(6) Duck Spring Rolls - YUM!
There was something for everyone and we had a splendid time dinning. Yes, I look grumpy in this series of photos. Well, I am trying to feed the kids, get them to behave...ya know, the usual behaviour management stuff with young children.
Suffice to say, it was a lovely experience for all of us and one that we will repeat soon.
Do you have a favourite restaurant / café that you go to as a family?
Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year's Eve,
