Go to Weekly Meal: Bulgogi

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Bulgogi, it is a Korean dish that consists of grilled meat and according to Wikipedia, it's listed at #23 on the World's 50 most delicious food readers' poll conducted by CNN Go in 2011. 

My family certain thinks it's very delicious and if you enjoy Japanese Teriyaki sauce, then the Korean Bulgogi sauce is one that you will enjoy immensely also. In fact, the latter is my preferred choice!

The sauce makes it such a versatile meal and that's another reason why our family loves it. You can marinate the meat before cooking it on the BBQ / use the sauce for stir-fries! It is THAT GOOD, really. If you love sang choy bao, use this sauce and you will love it even more!!!


Here's my favourite brand of Bulgogi marinate sauce and please don't ask me the name of the brand because I cannot read Korean. This is by far, in my view, the best tasting Bulgogi marinate sauce.

Here's my recipe for Stir fry Pork Mince and Vegetables Bulgogi

Ingredients
500g lean pork mince
4 cups of your families favourite vegetables
1/2 cup of Bulgogi Marinate Sauce (to make it saucy)
2 tsp Garlic Salt

1. In a non-stick fry pan over high heat, spray a thin layer of rice bran oil. 

2. Add pork mince and garlic salt, cook until brown. Add all the vegetables and mix well. Add marinate sauce and mix well. Turn the heat down to medium and cover for 5 minutes, reduce the heat to low and cook for a further 10 minutes or until all the vegetables are cooked through.

Serving suggestions:
- Serve over rice / noodles / pasta / lettuce like sang choy bao

This stir fry is suitable for freezing and re-heating in the microwave!
