Thank goodness for weekends

Towards the end of the work week signals the start of research for family fun activities on the weekend. Most of our activities revolved around parks and playgrounds as well as local activities especially when there are no errands involved. Our children love being out and about and detest coming home after a full day out!

LAST WEEKEND, we checked out a newly opened park in Underwood (Brisbane) and went on a few train rides by the Brisbane Bayside Steam Railway Society Inc.

Underwood Park in Priestdale

A spacious park that suits all ages and abilities. In fact there are several small playgrounds within the same park that caters to various ages and interests. The standout of this park is this amazing Funderwood Hollow Spielart playground which opened on 1st July this year provides many opportunities for kids to test themselves with the increasingly more challenging equipment that encourages them to make informed decisions. There is also the monorail track that is great for younger kids who are not quite up to using the BMX track. There is also a flying fox that will see your little monkeys swinging through the jungle. There are no cafes close by so pack a picnic basket and blanket - sit under the many trees and enjoy a gorgeous day in the great outdoors here in the southeast!

Brisbane Bayside Steam Railway Society Inc

This is our second visit in 6 months and given my son's love for trains, this activity absolutely topped his weekend. The Brisbane Bayside Steam Railway Society Inc is opened to the public on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month from 10:00am to 4:00pm. This is an ideal mini outing for the whole family that is relaxing and fun. Big kids and small kids of all ages will enjoy.

From our family to yours, have a splendid weekend making more memories.
