Like many parents, we have spent a ridiculous amount of $$$ on disposable diapers. For us, they are a necessity and sanity saver so we have never skimped. Only the market leader brand will do for us.
Fast forward time, our daughter has been toilet trained during the day since she was 2.5 years old and our son at 3.5 years. Since then, they only require a diaper for bedtime.
I have been reluctant to toilet train them overnight because they sleep so well!!! Seriously, I just don't want to rock the boat in that area. They are off to bed at 6:30pm and wake up from 6:00am on wards...I just don't want to jinx ourselves because we really love our adults' quiet time.
In the past month, it has come to our attention that Daniel wakes up with a bone dry diaper in the morning. Initially, I thought nothing more about it and assumed that to be a fluke.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is no fluke. My son sleeps non-stop for 11.5 hours (or more) without having to wake up to use the toilet! WOW! There you have it, Daniel is officially 100% toilet trained. He did it all on his own. No help / training / bribing from us whatsoever.
OK, one twin down and another one to go.
Our daughter told me last night that she loves her overnight diaper and is not perturb that she is now the only 'baby' in the family even though she is 1 min older than her brother! I may have to start bribing her to get her off the overnight diaper!
Overnight toilet training in Winter is simply barbaric so I may wait till Spring. Hey, this working mummy needs her sleep!
